As of August 12, 2026, the European Packaging Regulation (PPWR) will take effect. For those who purchase or design packaging, this means new requirements: a conformity assessment, technical documentation for each type of packaging, and proof that your packaging is recyclable and does not contain unnecessary empty space. That may sound like a burden, but it is primarily an opportunity to improve your packaging.
